Mission:
Members of the Bell County Historical Commission assist elected officials of the Bell County Commissioners Court and the Texas Historical Commission to preserve our historic and cultural resources.


Membership:
The Bell County Commissioners Court appoints members to the historical commission in January of odd-numbered years or as needed at other times.  All members are volunteers.  Individuals desiring membership with the Bell County Historical Commission should make their desire known by informing the Chairman and attending three meetings in a calendar year before submission of their name for appointment by the Commissioners Court.  Texas Local Government Code, Chapter 318 sets forth responsibilities of the historical commission.


Meetings:
Regular Meetings are at 7:00 p.m. on the fourth Monday of each month (except December and May) in the first-floor courtroom of the historic Bell County Courthouse.  Meetings are open to the public and visitors are welcome.
