Shay Luedeke began his term as Bell County Tax Assessor-Collector in January 2017. Prior to taking office, he spent 20 years working in the private sector, leading customer service teams in small and medium-sized businesses, and finding success as an entrepreneur. He is a proven leader with a wide-range of managerial skills and extensive experience with financial analysis, reporting and budgeting, online data security and automation, team building and training.

Shay strives to bring new energy and new ideas to the Office of Tax Assessor-Collector. He is committed to using his skill set, passion and drive to positively impact the citizens of Bell County. His focus in on process improvement, efficiency, team building and customer service.

As a proud graduate of Texas A&M University, Shay is an active member of The Association of Former Students and a strong advocate for higher education. He enjoys supporting his Alma Mater through regular trips to Bryan College-Station for football games, campus events and outreach activities.

Shay has a heart for servant leadership, strong faith in God and is personally committed to serving his family, church body and community. He is an active member at First Baptist Church in Salado and a regular volunteer with Salado ISD's nationally recognized Watch DOGS (Dads of Great Students) program. Shay's hobbies include hunting and spending time outdoors with his wife, Laura Golden-Luedeke, and their two children.

The Bell County Tax Assessor-Collector's Office now accepts Credit Cards for vehicle registration at the full service locations.
